March 29th 2019 is looming large on my calendar right now and it will be until that date arrives and everything goes according to plan. (Hoping no cancellations or unforeseen circumstances arise concerning the band)
I’ve been scouring the interwebs recently to find out any tidbits about the upcoming End of the Road KISS tour. Also been checking out a KISS podcast called 3 Sides Of The Coin, which talks about anything and everything KISS. Apparently Paul did an interview recently and stated that the band was planning on playing an extended set list on the last tour. Bumping their set list from around 16 songs to 25 song per show. WHICH WOULD BE AMAZING!!! Then, after listening to 3 Sides Of The Coin, they said that Paul and Gene have already back tracked on that statement. 25 songs just sounded too good to be true, LOL! Looks like the target set list number is hovering around 20 songs. Not as great as the original idea of 25, but definitely a bump in the right direction compared to the 16ish they have been playing.
So, just for my sanity lets say they do play 20 songs. How many of those slots are gobbled up by the UNDENIABLE KISS staples??? Let’s see, if I had to guess I would say these following songs are the ones they will play no matter what. 100% we will hear these jams: “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Detroit Rock City,” “Deuce,” “Love Gun,” “Shout It Out Loud,” and “Black Diamond.”
I actually have a 85% tier as well…. “Lick It Up,” “I Love It Loud,” “God of Thunder,” “Let Me Go, Rock and Roll,” “Calling Dr. Love.”
There is a VERY high probability these are 11 of the 20 song set. All KISS Klassics and all would be welcome. Even though I’ve seen all of these jams live before. I would love to hear them again. They are the reason I love this band so freakin much.
Are there any songs I’m forgetting that would fall into either of these 2 categories?? Let me know… Next post, I dive into those other 9 slots. And the gloriousness that those slots could possess. Til next time on the road to KISS!!!
